Sourcing Spices and Food Ingredients from Pakistan
Article

Pakistan supplies whole and ground spices, pulses and other food ingredients to wholesalers, manufacturers and food-service distributors. Product identity alone is not enough: crop, processing, cleanliness and food-safety limits must be written into the purchase specification.

Specifications buyers should confirm

Define botanical or product identity, origin, mesh or cut size, moisture, colour, volatile oil where relevant, microbiological limits, pesticide limits and foreign-matter tolerance. Approve a representative sample and testing plan.

Packaging and shipment planning

Multiwall paper bags, lined polypropylene bags, cartons and retail pouches are common. Confirm food-contact materials, oxygen or moisture protection, coding, pallet pattern and private-label requirements.

Export documentation

Typical files include certificate of analysis, phytosanitary or health documents where applicable, origin certificate, allergen statement, invoice and packing list. Destination food rules determine the final set.

What to include in a quotation request

Share the product specification, quantity, destination, required packing, target Incoterm, testing expectations and delivery window. A complete requirement allows suppliers to quote the correct grade and avoid hidden differences between offers.

Zauraq Continentals coordinates supplier selection, samples, specifications, packing and export documentation for international buyers sourcing from Pakistan.
